Ocean Park and the Braai-B-Q

A group of us had the last wednesday off and decided to mossy on down to Ocean Park.

Was a beautiful day for walking until our legs turned to jelly...

whilst in the park, ross found a spot to set up a new shop.

we ferris wheeled. Pretty rad view from here I gotta say.

The Dragon roller coaster was shut down for the day much to our dismay. 

We also found out that all of the Halloween stuff opened at night and required a different ticket, which was a little gay. This was a laser tag zombie hunting game, looked amazing.

I always love the Ocean Park aquarium, some dope specimens.

Good thing we did! as we were leaving- FLOODS of people coming into the park for the Night Tickets. Even though we didnt get to enjoy all the halloween vibes, still probably best we left when we did.

a kiff Braai-B-Q ended the night. 

Mike took us to a sweet little outta the way spot in Stanley where we braai-ed it up...

a fair amount of books

Checked out the Hong Kong Book Fair last week. Was pretty cool, chalked full of books and a few hidden gems. The English book sections were fair enough.

who wants to go to other place?

Was very packed, this picture does no justice to the fullness of the huge hall it took place in. At some points during the day I was getting rather annoyed.

The Hong Kong Book fair runs until the 26th and is at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center in Wan Chai. It is 25$ to get in or 10$ before 12 noon.

The day after the fair ends the Comic Fair begins! VERY KEEN!

Wet LAND

Checked out the Hong Kong Wetland Park the other day...

It was a good way to spend the afternoon. I was slightly disappointed with the lack of cool animals. We did however see a very big rat swimming through the swamps.

So here is my lazy-ass review. It was a great open space (which is rare and somewhat surreal in Hong Kong). It was clean and well maintained. Not a whole lot to do unless you are into walking around and enjoying nature. I would recommend checking it out if you feel like spending a day away from the buzz of the city.

The entrance to the building was lined with these cool bronze statues.

First thing to potentially see after passing through the visitors center is Pui Pui the crocodile.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to see him.

Take a walk on the wild side (not really though).

Lots of cool trees and plants.

We saw mainly dragonflies and a few butterflies...

Anyways, it was pleasant, but not the best thing I've ever done.

Price is 30HKD, Open 10 - 5 I believe. Closed on Tuesdays.

How to get there. Take the MTR to Tin Shui Wai. Then take the Light Rail to Hong Kong Wetland Park.

I was born on a pirate ship

Had such a MEGA effing blast yesterday on my birthday junk boat! Amazing people, sunny rays, cold beer, and a ghetto jew birthday cake!

There were a lot more photos, but i honestly can't be bothered to upload many more.

After the junk Luke, Mike, Laena, Corey and others thought it would be an amazing idea to continue to drink out in Lan Kwai -

Started out at Luke's bar, it wasn't open yet, but he served us some drinks anyways..

Went to The Globe for some food (thank goodness we did) then Luke of course bought me some sort of drink that was on fire... it is his tradition with my birthdays it seems.

Then we went to some other place where he bought me yet another flaming drink, but this one was stronger. Had no idea what time it was, but pretty sure it was early!

facebook sucks rainbow dong

So I have finally decided to start a blog. I am getting annoyed with facebook... and want to stop being so lazy. My prediction is that this blog will last for a little less than a month until I get bored. This blog will mainly be me either ranting or moaning, also just crap about video games, comics, and other cool shit.

So I have recently moved back to Hong Kong (again) and am happy living in this city. I moved here approx 2 months ago from Vancouver. Vancouver was NOT my scene, there are so many things I did not like about that city, so instead of making a giant list of my dislikes, i will just say that I like Asia alot more.

Whats happening today - I just got back from the airport where I picked up my good friend Derek and his dad. They will be staying with us for the next 4 days. Derek has been here before and I'm sure it'll even be more fun this time. I was and am very hungover from last night where we drank entirely too much booze and only spent about 30HKD, man I love this city!!! Anyways back to what I was saying, buses in Hong Kong + me with a hangover = yuck.
